Elder Abuse Prevention PSA
During the month of August, The Public teamed up with filmmaker Alexis Mitchell and actress Tabby Johnson to facilitate a series of intergenerational workshops for newcomer elders and youth on elder abuse and prevention hosted by Newcomer Women’s Services in Toronto.
Sheila and Alexis facilitated workshops on knowledge-transference, campaign planning and visioning, and Tabby joined us as a special guest week 2 to introduce a number of writing and acting exercises. We spent the final week filming a short PSA and talk-show written by (and starring!) the women in the group.
We’re getting really excited now that we’re looking at rough cuts and moving into the final stages of editing. Stay tuned for more information about the launch, coming up later this month!
