Air pollution and creative knowledge transfer workshops begin at Westview Centennial School
On Monday, Sheila visited Westview Centennial School up at Jane and Finch to co-facilitate the first of a series of eight workshops on air quality/pollution and creative knowledge transfer, with the fine folks at Green Change, a part of the Jane/Finch Community and Family Centre, and Success Beyond Limits. The first workshop included icebreakers, and creative activities designed to get participants talking about how air pollution affects the community, as well as visioning what a healthy community looks like. The youth offered amazing intersectional analyses of the issues in the area, as we talked about the the reality of environmental racism, autonomy, and community-building. Next workshop is this Thursday, and we can’t wait to continue working with and learning from this amazing group!
